GENERAL INFORMATION ON VISAS

TO OBTAIN A VISA TO RUSSIA AN APPLICANT IS SUPPOSED TO FILL A VISA APPLICATION ON THE WEB-SITE

When applying for visa, please, be advised that the permission to enter the Russian Federation is a courtesy of the State.

In accordance with the International Law, Consulate General of the Russian Federation in certain cases reserves the right to consider your visa applications as long as it feels necessary.

Consular Officer reserves the right to invite the Applicant for an interview in person.

Visa can be denied if Consulate General of the Russian Federation has serious reasons to believe that the Applicant's visit to the Russian Federation is not desirable, and the disclosure of the reason for the denial can be withheld.

Visa processing fees received from the applicant are not subject for reimbursement in case of subsequent refusal.

Consulate General of the Russian Federation will not bear any responsibility for the errors in visas, which were not brought to our attention before departure from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Diplomatic Visa applicants have to present their diplomatic passports in original.

Guests of the employees of the Foreign Diplomatic and Consular Missions in Russia are advised to obtain an invitation or verbal note from the Mission addressed to the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The invitation must be dated and carry a seal and a registration number. (Sometimes, Foreign Missions in Russia prefer to process their invitations through the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this case, the invitation or the verbal note is not required).

Children apply for separate visas if they travel on their own passports. Non-traveling parents must confirm in an affidavit their consent for their children's travel. If the child's surname differs from that of his (her) parents, a copy of the child's birth certificate must be enclosed.

Double-entry Visa is issued for two entries if indicated in invitation. All arrival and departure dates must be indicated.

Consulate General of the Russian Federation does not issue visas to any other CIS countries.

Travelers (excluding applicants for a multiple visa) planning to stay in Russia for a period of more than 90 days must attach a copy of an HIV test certificate to their application papers.

No medical insurance is officially required unless you stay in Russia for 6 months or more. Prior to your visit, consult your medical insurance issuer for details. On the basis of reciprocity mandatory medical insurance is required for the citizens of Estonia, Israel and Finland, as well as for the citizens of Schengen Agreement Member-States (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain).

HOW TO APPLY

You should apply personally at the Consular Department.

Please, note that drop-off day is not included in the processing period. Visa processing period begins only after we collected all the documents required.

Visa Application form is to be filled in by the Applicant.

USA, UK and Canada passport holders are to fill in SUPPLEMENT TO THE QUESTIONNAIRE.

Consular Department reserves the right to invite the applicants for an interview and ask questions on personal, financial, business or corporate related issues as well as on their Russian contacts and partners.

How to print and fill up a visa form


TOURIST VISA

Russian Tourist Visa can be single-entry or double-entry and is issued for no longer than 30 days.

For a Tourist Visa, please, submit the following documents at least one month prior to the planned trip:

1. Duly completed visa application form obtainable (free of charge) from the Consular Department.

2. A valid passport.

3. Three passport-size photos.

4. An Original Tourist Voucher.

5. An Original Tourist Confirmation (in Russian language) of acceptance from a Russian travel agency, registered with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The confirmation must contain the agency's reference number and registration number.

6. Police Character Certificate with the contact number of authorities who issued the document.

7. Two way confirmed ticket with fixed dates.

8. An original letter from your employer or company stating the purpose of your visit.

9. A Copy of the National Tax Number

10. Travel Insurance

11. Copy of a travel cheque (i.e. the sum of $ 1000 is mandatory as a guarantee that applicant can afford the expenditure).

PRIVATE VISA
(visits to relatives or friends)

Private Visa is issued for no longer than 90 days and is valid for single entry only.

For a Private Visa, please submit:

1. Two duly completed visa application forms obtainable (free of charge) from the Consular Department.

2. Valid passport.

3. Invitation (original only).

4. Four passport size photos.

5. Police Character Certificate with the contact number of authorities who issued the document.

6. An original letter from your employer or company stating the purpose of your visit.

7. The bank statement of the person who invites the applicant (In a case of unavailability of bank statement of host, one can submit his/her personal bank statement along with national tax number).

8. Copy of the valid passport of the person who invites you.

9. The letter from the person who invites you, that he/she takes full responsibility for your staying in the Russian Federation.

10. Travel insurance.

BUSINESS VISA (single-entry visa, double-entry visa, multiple-entries visa)

Single-entry and double-entry Business Visas are issued for no longer than 90 days.

Multiple re-entry Business Visa is issued for up to 1 year and only upon authorization from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or its Regional Representative Office.

For a Business Visa, please submit:

1. Two duly completed visa application forms obtainable (free of charge) from the Consular Department.

2. Four passport size photos.

3. Valid original passport.

4. Original Invitation issued by the concerned Ministry of the Russian Federation

5. Up-to-date bank statement for six months (bank statement confirmation letter and Manager's card is mandatory required).

6. Registration certificate in the local chamber of commerce.

7. National tax payment number certificate.

8. Company'sauthorizationletter.

9. Copy of the agreement with host company.

10. Police Character Certificate with the contact number of authorities who issued the document.

11. Travel insurance.

WORKING VISA

For a Working Visa, please submit:

1. Two duly completed visa application forms obtainable (free of charge) from the Consular Department.

2. Four passport size photos.

3. Valid original passport.

4. Original Invitation issued by the concerned Ministry of the Russian Federation

5. Work permission issued by the concerned Ministry of the Russian Federation

6. The letter from the organization which invites you with its full information on registration in the Russian Federation.

7. Up-to-date bank statement for six months (bank statement confirmation letter and Manager's card is mandatory required).

8. National tax payment number certificate.

9. Local Company's or Sponsor's authorization letter.

10. Copy of the agreement with host organization

11. Police Character Certificate with the contact number of authorities who issued the document

12. Travel insurance

TRANSIT VISA

Transit Visa permits to travel through the Russian territory without stay.

In accordance to your tickets, it is issued for up to 72 hours, if you travel by air, or for up to 10 days, if using other means of transportation.

For a Transit Visa, please, submit:

1. Duly completed visa application form obtainable (free of charge) from the Consular Department.

2. Valid passport.

3. Three passport size photos.

4. Original return confirmed ticket with fixed dates.

5. Valid visa of the country of destination.

6. Police Character Certificate with the contact number of authorities who issued the document.

7. An original letter from your employer or company stating the purpose of your visit.

STUDENT VISA

This attributes to the "long-term" students requesting entry visas. Short-term student projects' participants should refer to the Business Visa regulations.

For a Student Visa, please, submit:

1. Duly completed visa application form obtainable (free of charge) from the Consular Department.

2. Valid passport.

3. Original invitation from the institute/university/academy issued by the concerned Ministries of the Russian Federation.

4. Three passport size photos.

5. Academics certificates. It must be attested by the Ministry of Education of Pakistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and translated in Russian language.

6. HIV test certificate (printed and stamped from the Embassy approved hospitals and laboratories).

7. Medical fitness certificate (printed and stamped from the Embassy approved hospitals and laboratories).

8. Up-to-date bank statement. If it is bank statement not of applicant but of any sponsor or relative, there should be sponsor's letter (affidavit), attested by the local lawyer along with sponsor's national tax number and job letter.

9. Police Character Certificate with the contact number of authorities who issued the document.

10. Travel insurance.

VISA FEE

1. For Pakistani nationals:

A. Single entry/transit visa regular fee is Rs. 9000 (issued in 4-20 days after the application date).Urgent fee Rs. 17500 (1-3 working days).

* Urgency option is not applicable to tourist visas.

B. Double/Multiple entry visa regular fee Rs. 18000 (issued within 4-20 days after the application date). Urgent fee 26500 (1-3 working days).*

* Urgency option is not applicable to tourist visas.

The amount will be specified at the time of submitting the documents for a visa.
